Thoughts on Language Learning from a 7-year-old
This weeks guest blogger, Ellie Starkey, is just 7 years old. She’s already caught the language learning bug and here she gives us a run down of why she loves languages and how she goes about learning them.
I’m learning Spanish because my family lives in Spain. I would like to be able to speak to people in Spanish when we visit our family.I learn with a group of friends. We meet up once a week. We use activities and reading books to helps us along.
When I’m at home I use One Third Stories because it helps and I really enjoy the stories, audio books, and puppet shows- they make learning Spanish nice and easy and loads of fun! It helps because it says words in English and Spanish so I can understand everything.
I’m also learning French because when I started learning Spanish I realised how much fun languages are.French is fun and has some very cool words.
I also learn French in a group with a French teacher. We sing song, play games and much more. At home I like to listen to One Third Stories for the same reason as I do it for Spanish.
